Lanterns

A Lantern parade is a simple, beautiful way to engage a community, to celebrate, to create and to walk together.

The process starts with a few sticks that are created into a shape, then covered with paper and decorated. Then these indivudal personalised sculptural objects are bought together, lit as the sun sets. A community then walks together in a river of light, as one.

Events have included the Cardwell Caring for Country Conference, the opening of the Taranaki International Arts Festival, MoonLantern Festival in Richmond,  INTO THE LIGHT, a community recovery project in Whittlesea, Victoria, and I have directed the Lismore Lantern Parade since 2008.

Please look at my CV for other lantern events.

Please contact me if you are interested in commissioning a sculptural lantern or developing a lantern parade with your community.
