Woven Landscapes

Upon returning to my homeland, New Zealand, in 2021, my practice has resumed weaving. Using a coil basket technique learnt initially in a workshop at the Woodford Folk Festival, I have been re-sculpting materials my sister left into baskets, bowls and vessels. These shapes are informed by my ceramic practice and inspired by the whenua (land), maunga (mountains), awa (rivers) and roto (lakes).
